We will build on the pollinator and bee themes by actually planting a pollinator garden in a 4′ x 20′ space.  Because of the location we are leaning toward native plants that require little water.  We are looking for donations of plants, seeds, worms, ladybugs. We have the following plants: Red Hot Poker, Catmint, Hyssop, Bee Balm, Yarrow, Pin Cush…

The MOST IMPORTANT flower you can plant for our bees, are organic ones. Did you know that every flower, seed or plant you buy from your local garden shop has been treated with a deadly pesticide that lasts up to 6 years on the plant? Crazy huh?

When you go to buy seeds or plants to help the bees and your garden grow, buy and plant only USDA Certified Organic to make sure you are not damaging your local eco system with pesticide/neonic plants.

Our Monthly Work Bees occur on the Third Saturday of each month.   Monthly Work Bees are designed to provide local opportunities for hands-on experience in design and/or installation of Permaculture systems and local food production gardens. Monthly workbees are combined with an education short at the Monthly Meeting. Because our monthly workbees rotate location, we post locations as they are confirmed.

All workbees and events are organized and facilitated by members of our group, and anyone is welcome to suggest and host meetups (workbees, social gatherings, educational events, discussion groups, etc).

All members are encouraged to organize events that are in addition to our monthly meetings and workbees.  If you have an idea for an event, please email it to the group (Permaculture-Northern-Nevada-list (at) meetup.com) or one of the group organizers listed on the left sidebar.  We’ll work with you to gather information and support (if needed) and to get the event posted on the meetup site.  After you have hosted one event, we will make you a co-organizer and you can post events for the group at any time.

At our events, we strive to maintain the mission and goals of PNN, which can be viewed at http://permaculturenorthernnevada.wikispaces.com/About
