Do a little celebration dance for the bees!

We did it! We are well on our way to a pesticide FREE public parks program for Washoe County.

Our meeting with the City of Reno, Sparks, Urban Forest and Washoe County went well today!

We had Sarah Mahler, Jana Vanderhar, Dan Carrick, Ingrid Drummer, Linda Allison and her mother as well as me, Sandy Rowley show up to discuss our concerns with over use of pesticides, loss of pollinator habitat and the declining beauty of our city parks.

Our hopes were to begin a dialog on how we could help our city and county parks department implement safe alternatives for managing pests and weeds on public lands.

After an hour and a half of back and forth, questions and answers… we all agreed on a total of 27 parks within the city of Sparks as well as one park inside Ildewild park in Reno Nv.
